This morning's meeting went extremely well. I cannot believe how much excitement has built for this trip! According to a rough count this morning we had over 50 students interested...WOW!
I am writing this post to allow for comments to be made concerning the trip. It's much easier then writing various emails because everyone can gain the same information.
Here are a few things that I addressed in this morning's meetings:
There is no cap on how many students I will be taking on this trip. The more the merrier!
Parents are welcome on this trip, although your role is not as a chaperone so you will need to pay a single occupancy cost (if you want to double room with a second adult, you need to arrange that and contact School Tours of America customer service.).
We will have a PARENT INFORMATION meeting on AUGUST 18 at 5:00 PM in the Thunderbolt Library. We will be making updates on the TBOLT Facebook page during the year, as well as here.
STA has sent me registration packets. I just received them in the mail. Your child can pick them up during the week or on Friday, August 15, during our morning meeting. If you feel comfortable online, you can register at www.schooltoursofamerica.com. In the upper right hand corner, it states "Register for your trip here!" Be warned, if you register online, scroll through the "Terms and Conditions" to the BOLD font. STA will charge you automatic trip insurance which is around $200 dollars; you can choose to deselect this option if you feel certain your student will be attending the trip. In order to register, you will need our specific trip #--please ask your student for this number (given out at the meeting) as we do not want to publish it online here.
Thank you for your and your student's interest! I look forward to exploring NYC with the incredible kids we have at Thunderbolt Middle School!
